Our Founder – About Isabella

A lifetime passion and love for horses led to the creation of the ranch.

Isabella was born in Long Beach, California in 1948. At the age of 5, Isabella moved to San Diego, California where she then later graduated high school in 1965. Shortly after graduation, she became a human resources administrator.

When she retired in 2000, Isabella then moved to Yucca Valley to purchase property and fulfill a passion for horses she shared with her granddaughter, Lauren. In 2008, Isabella was overwhelmed by the number of animals that were discarded when they had aged to the point of being unable to work/ride. She decided to create and open a rehabilitation and rescue for these horses.

About the Ranch

A non-profit Horse Rescue located in the high desert of Yucca Valley, CA.

Our primary mission is to rescue horses that have been abandoned or abused. After we take care of the horses until they are rehabilitated (physically and mentally), we find new owners committed to providing them with a loving, caring environment. For the unadoptable horses, White Rock Ranch provides a natural setting for them to live in during their remaining days.

White Rock Horse Ranch was founded by Isabella Megli in 2004. Since then, we have rescued approximately 500 horses and have found them new loving homes.

White Rock Ranch Horse Rescue and Retirement is a non profit 501(c)(3) located in the high desert of Yucca Valley.
